Google on the ropes? Zappos the best ever? Neither. One uses organizational planning. How’s that relevant to my organization?

In my efforts to talk about issues organizations face and then weave SF into the conversation (vs weaving client issues into the SF conversation) I posted this blog. Problem Focused Organizations: looking for a solution

I'll shortly publish a book (a somewhat thin affair, but of substance). The theme of the book is that organizations need to rid themselves of problem focus.

Not very solution focused I hear you say. Yes, but the message is for managers in organizations who want an additional tool to help them deal with change, planning etc.

Hence, the 'positioning' around problems. An attention getter!

My opening shot on the theme is in this blog post:…

1001 Solution Focused Questions. Handbook for Solution Focused Interviewing

W.W. Norton recently published my book titled 1001 Solution-Focused Questions. Handbook for Solution-Focused Interviewing in the USA and UK. Insoo Kim Berg wrote the foreword (also for the Dutch version published in 2006), just a few months before she passed away:

"With this clear and well written book Fredrike Bannink makes the solution-building approach accessible to many readers.… Continue

A note to Michael Klingenstierna Hjerth

Michael, delighted to hear from you. I'm also delighted to hear about what you are doing to make SF 2.0 come to life. I have have long practiced using solution focus blended with other approaches, but on on a more prosaic basis, e.g., change management. I’ve been a fan of the folks at http://www.change-management.com/ for a long time. I often use their ideas and build in SF elements. If I have a client issue, e.g., a client-supplier issue they… Continue

Processing for Reciprocity of Inquiry or Team Building De-Brief Questions

I love questions; asking them, answering them, writing about them, thinking about them, driving Christine (Wife)crazy with them. Whether you are a facilitator, coach, leader, person in the toilet-stall next to me – asking 2 to 3 questions beyond the point of where we agree

develops understanding of each other. Additionally asking questions

EBTA Malmo, what else was useful and interesting?

Anton Stellamans led a sparkling session, in which he took us on a quest for a different kind of philosophy, suggesting that perhaps SF itself is a different kind of philosophy.

I’m not sure I understood all of what was said, but here are my more or less useful…
