Sharing and building Solution Focused practice in organisations
BACKGROUND
Practify. What is it?
Practify is an online space where you share reflections on learnings in various situations. For those at the conference it will focus on learnings from attending the conference and the open spaces.
The system has a playful approach (gamification) where you score when you complete tasks eg writing a reflection, commenting on someone else's contribution, uploading a picture or something else.
Everybody who participates can see what everybody does - it’s 100% access.
THE IDEA
Study-Buddies. How does it work?
Non-participant “outsiders” can partner up with conference participants - “insiders” in pairs.
Through their Study-Buddy partnership, they will exchange reflections and insights from what happens at the conference.
Costs: an “outsider” pays €40 to participate.
Study-Buddies. The different roles.
“Insiders” have 3 ways to participate in Practify:
eventbrite.co.uk/e/practify-solworld-conference-liverpool-tickets-2...
Cost: all 3 roles are free of charge. However you must commit to completing the tasks and playing along and thereby create content for the Practify space.
Registration: during the conference, people can of course decide to 'jump on the train' and participate.
Timeline. When and what.
A week prior to the conference, Study-Buddy pairs will be in touch about best hopes for the conference and their co-working relationship. “Free agents” will do the same for themselves also on Practify.
During the conference there will be given small tasks focused on reflections, insights etc. The tasks will be designed in a way that fits the conference programme and social gatherings. “Keep it simple”.
In the three weeks after the conference there will be further - still simple - tasks/challenges connected to the learnings from the conference.
After one month the project closes.
Either during or after the conference, an editorial team will look at the content and see what can come out of it for publishing: blog-posts, articles, cases and maybe even an e-book.
Who will facilitate it?
Jesper H Christiansen will facilitate the process from signing up to deliver the tasks/challenges and make sure that people stay in touch/use Practify after the conference.
Jesper gets help from Arpi - Árpád Bárnai - from Practify/Analogy and Kati Hankovszky two people with great experience in involving and nurturing people and their insights.
What happens with the content?
The content is meant to serve the SOLWorld community. This idea was born in the mind of Jesper and is fuelled by a wish for making insights and learnings from the community accessible for non-SF-people as well as inspire SF-people.
The idea is supported by Jenny Clarke and Mark McKergow which makes the Liverpool conference a unique possibility to try out something new.
As it is emergent, just like the conference itself, there’s no guarantee that what comes out of it is applicable to publishing. But we definitely believe so!

You want to learn more about "Solution Focus"?
You prefer a "step by step" introduction instead to start with reading some voluminous books?
You would appreciate to have a complete "helicopter view" on SF after the first step…
