Savouring my recollections of the SOL Summer Retreat, one of the phrases that lingers in my mind is Paul Z's: "I could live like this". "Me too!", I thought, "yet, the retreat will be over soon." It was Friday…

As you all can see the title under the potos is not correct. Never the less the pictures give a good impression of the great atmosphere.

Dear Eva, Bjorn, Liselotte, Anton, Kati and Jesper,
Thank you all for the fantastic way you organized this retreat. We enjoyed it very much and still have a lot of nice and warm flashbacks. We learned a lot and were also very pleased by the humouris atmosphere.
Overall the high quality of all the participants.
We are sure this will not be the first and only summerretreat. Looking forward to the next meeting.
warm greetings from Hennie and Bert

Report of group discussion at SOL summer retreat, Switzerland.
We shared stories of times it was not going so well – from trainings that went slightly off track to open rebellions from individuals or from the whole group.
The SF principle is, of course, ‘If it doesn’t work, do something different’. OK, but what? In radical moments, it may take radical…

Solutions focus (SF) has been around for 30 years, possibly longer. First, in the world of family therapy and more recently in
organizations. Deeply researched it is an approach to help people find ways to
move beyond things they believe are preventing them from making progress, i.e.,
when they are stuck. One of the unique aspects of SF is that the client is in
charge of the change – the changes they want to make.…

I'm seriously impressed with how the Summer Retreat is unfolding. The Group of Six have created such a fabulous platform as our starting point. The setting is unbelievable, the service great, and the 30-ish community members are co-creating an amazing experience.
So what is contributing to this? So many things...
- The care and attention given to creating a space for our being and doing.
- The gentle structure: opening and…

Alan Kay – SF Applications
Session with Alan Kay facilitating group discussion at SOL summer, Aug 2010
How to expand the reach of SF
How to get stuff out there. Martin Seligman – only talk to the senior people. He succeeds with this, even though one might say that PP has few applications. And many
of those are written for research. Sf is
strong in…

The aspiration to have a Sol event for South Africa in July 2011 gained some momentum today. Nine people got together for two hours in Centurion, Pretoria, to discuss what would make this event worthwhile…

When I first read on the list about the SF summit in Malmo about the future of SF, I immediately wrote to Björn and asked if I could be included. I knew that they could only host 30 guests and therefore it would be a high profile meeting. I was hesitant to ask since I’m a “baby” in the SF world and said so to…

At the recent 'SF summit' gathering in Malmo (see my report at
http://tinyurl.com/3xttyus), Gale Miller suggested that we start playing the game of 'fantasy academic centre'.
It works like this: Suppose that someone has given us $10 million to set up an multi-disciplinary academic centre, probably based at a university, to produce excellent and provocative material in support of the 'SF paradigm' - the framework within which our…

You prefer a "step by step" introduction instead to start with reading some voluminous books?
You would appreciate to have a complete "helicopter view" on SF after the first step…
