2-6 August 2021
Organising team: Wendy van den Bulck and Sarah Cudmore
Dear SOL World friends,
We are delighted to announce that the 12th SOL Summer Retreat will take place on 2nd – 6th August 2021.
It will be a mix of the formats that have worked so well over the previous 11 years, with an online base and as much physical co-location of participants as possible by August.
This year, we have planned it so that the Retreat will include the SF24 Conference; which is taking place on the 5th-6th August. We hope that participants in the Retreat will see this as an opportunity to include and support that event as part of their own Retreat planning.
The Retreat is an opportunity to meet other SF practitioners in an informal environment so that we learn more about how we each think and apply SF in our work and lives. And to co-create a joyful, easeful environment for all to think, learn, share, play, take care of self and others.
The Retreat starts on Monday, August 2nd at 19:00 CET with an opening ceremony, and ends with a closing ceremony on Friday, August 6th, 17:30 CET. We ask that all Retreaters join these two events as a minimum.
The Retreat days include:
- Three, optional, check-in moments each day to connect with SF colleagues on the retreat – morning, after lunch, and evening (CET)
- A shared online overview of the retreat period with offers & requests from participants, possible events from invited speakers, the SF24 event.
- Whatever you decide to include in your retreat for you! And what you decide to offer and accept from other retreaters.
We invite you to think what YOUR ‘perfect Retreat’ might be like?
- Where would you be spending your time?
- Doing what?
- What do you look forward to doing?
- What might you want to focus on, hear more about, practise doing, ask someone, … ?
- What difference would that make?
- What would you love to share with others on the Retreat about your SF work /thinking?
The Opening and Closing Ceremonies
These are the only ‘compulsory’ attendance activities during the Retreat. They require a Totem, a candle and access to Zoom.
- The opening ceremony will be on Monday, August 2rd at 19h00 CET. We ask you to choose and bring an object which will be your Retreat ‘Totem’: something that will become your own symbol of nourishing your SF roots, and that will keep the rich memories of this Retreat alive every time you see your ‘Totem’ after the Retreat.
- The closing ceremony will be on Friday, August 6th at 16h00 CET until 1730 CET. We will share how we have been nourished during the Retreat and the meaning our Totem now has for us having participated.
You can register to attend this free event on Eventbrite.
You can still join our last co-creation moment on July 21st at 20:00 CET, you can register here.
