Sharing and building Solution Focused practice in organisations

South Africa will be hosting the Rainbow Convention in 2010 (apropos Global Coaching Convention)
Here's the link: http://gccweb.ning.com/group/rainbowconvention
I am a Research POD leader.
Inquiry: Exploring Solution Focused Reflecting Team as a Supervision methodology for Coaches and Mentors for sustainable Continuing Professional Development– A Solution-Focused, Reflective Team Script for Coaches’ in Supervision in a Constantly Changing Environment
To get some momentum going I created a forum - link: http://enablers.ning.com/group/agiftofcoaching/forum/topics/practit...
If you would be interested I posted the questions that keep me awake at night, namely
THEMES THAT KEEP ME AWAKE AT NIGHT:
--Define professional self development
--How do you establish which coaches are willing to be supervised? By Attitude, Maturity, ???
--which variables are prevalent in the present? -re this field-
--what are the collective needs and realities at this time?
-- issues like trust and integrity…..
--knowledge exchanges???
-- establish coping with specific focus in the field, or random??
--who is the sample? How large is large enough and expanded to extrapolate findings?
--how will data be collected? E.g. individual and group interviews?
--what instrument will be used? E.g. Questionnaires???
--are all respondents open to this investigation
--have they / are they going to been prepared?
--ethics and valid instruments as a concern??
I feel stuck - or rather let me say - I have some doubts about this. I do appreciate that we are all very busy but would really appreciate some thoughts from you - just to get me going.
Kind regards,
Elta

Hi Elta - maybe you can ask this question in this list also:

Thanks Hans-Peter,
Will do so.

Hi Elta
I found only empty space on your forum-link (perhaps because I'm not a member) and so I'm not sure what your Q is. What are you stuck or have doubts about? Or do you want us to answer the Qs that keep you awake at night? Or is it a wider Q about the design of research?

Best wishes,

Jenny
Hi Jenny,
Sorry about the link - I am still learning how to use social networking.
Thank you for asking the question - it brings clarity. I am wishing for us to reflect on the questions. How do we see CPD?
What works for other supervision groups?
Who has knowledge and experience to share about reflecting teams as supervision?
And so forth,
Looking forward to hear from you
Elta
Hi Elta
Sorry - I neglected to come back to this. We have used SF reflecting teams in our supervision (well, peer supervision or intervision) for about 15 years now and it doesn't get stale or fail to provoke useful and interesting stuff for the presenter and all the other participants. Working in the organisational world, there is no formal requirement for CPD, but it seems an important activity for anyone still active , reflective and willing to learn! Jenny

You want to learn more about "Solution Focus"?

You prefer a "step by step" introduction instead to start with reading some
voluminous books?

You would appreciate to have a complete "helicopter view" on SF after the first step…
