Sharing and building Solution Focused practice in organisations

Hi everyone

I am wondering about how we might use the various facilities of this splendid ning platform. There are a number of possibilities for interacting here. One is groups, which have started to appear. Another is via the central forum (where this is posted), where we have the option of defining various categories for different discussions. And the listserver continues to run, of course.

What thoughts does anyone have on how we might organise ourselves? Or we could just leave it to chance, of course.

Good question. Knowing that forums work and having tried some of them I find them unsatisfying for my Scottish brain, i.e., not the best for my learning and contributing style. My contribution seems to work when it’s moving towards a specific output – I was only partially well received at a national conference in Ottawa yesterday for daring to say, enough talk, let’s write an implementation plan! By good luck, I was sitting beside someone with a budget to do so.
Hence I see the SF innovation hot topic www.sfinnovation.ning.com group doing some webinar-like activities to share ideas and hopefully bring something to SOL 2009.
So, perhaps we need both – discussion forums and action-learning webinars. Alan.
HI Alan

Yes, I'm sure we need both... I was kind of wondering how to prevent the discussion from getting too fragmented. Anyway, let's see how things develop.
Mark,
I send a newsletter out bi-monthly and like to update the Recommended Reading list each time - it might be a good idea to have a Book List where people can add any books they like on SF and include the ISBN number.
Kind regards
Eileen
Hi Eileen,

Great idea! I will figure out a way to do it.
I wonder if someone who has the technical know-how could put together a little guide to the various facilities and how to use them. Or if such a think already exists to point us newbies in the right direction.

Mark
Hi Mark

There is a general Ning help function at

help.ning.com

which is aimed at network users. Maybe try that first.

Cheers
Mark
Hi Mark
In our writing workshop at the SOL we had decided that everyone who wants a copy of what we created should send me an e-mail. Good idea, perhaps. But is there a chance to place this word documents somewhere here at ning so that all people who are interested can download it? Thanks for your help.
Roswitha
Hi Roswitha,

I think it is possible to add it to any of your messages, comments, or replies. Under the editor you can see the question, if you wish to upload something. Just click it and attach a file, like in mailbox. I guess this might work. :)

Best wishes.

Kamila
Thanks, Kamila

I started a new "Discussion" in the Forum, and the upload worked. Jippiiiiie!

Best wishes

Hi Mark
This is soooo cool!! - What a funky community SOLWorld has become.
Am just playing around wit it and it will definitely fulfill 99,9% of all present needs of the community.

Hi Mark,
I am wondering:
Is there any possibility to place documents directly (and not as attachemements of discussions) into an area of "ning"? And can documents put / re-aranged into directories similar to yahoo-groups?
I surfed in http://about.ning.com/product.php and found nothing about it. But I suppose, that there is something like that...
