What became the international SOLWorld community started out as an email listserver, SOLUTIONS-L, set up by Mark McKergow, Paul Z Jackson and their Bristol Solutions Group colleagues in February 2000. The list has been a place for connecting with others who use the Solution-Focused approach in organisational settings, including coaching, consulting, facilitating, team development, organisational development (OD), management and more. The list is free to join.
The SOLWorld list is a dynamic email group for professionals interested in applying Solution Focus in organisational settings. It’s a place to: Share insights, questions, and experiences about SF in organisations. Connect with a vibrant community passionate about leveraging SF principles for growth and transformation. Keep up-to-date with what is happening in the SF in organisations community.
For those in therapeutic and related fields, there’s a separate list tailored to your needs (SFT-L).
Community Guidelines
The SOLWorld list is for community exchange and collaboration. However, there’s a special exception for promoting SF-related products and services in organisational contexts—only on the first Tuesday of each month.

Members can quickly send an email to all the other list members. This creates discussions in your email in-box which have an immediacy and vivacity which we enjoy. The original SOLUTIONS-L ran from 2000 – 2015, when it was replaced by the Google-driven SOLWorldlist.net. Sadly this list was deleted by Google in early 2025, and so the list has been reconstituted by Mark McKergow, Jesper Christiansen and John Brooker as Solworld-list.
