Sharing and building Solution Focused practice in organisations

From time to time, members of the of the The SOLUTIONS-L email listserv may wish to share a document with other members .

There are several ways to achieve this. The key issue is whether the contributor wants to share the document with the world, or they want to restrict access to members of the listserv.

When a member adds a document to their own SOLWorld blog, it is discoverable by the whole world.

There are many free websites that allow users to create their own account, upload files and control how they are shared. Well known examples include

To share a document only with members of the listserv simply

  1. Go to your online storage website
  2. Upload a copy of the document to the web (see below)
  3. Share it only with those people who have a link to it
  4. The website will provide a link - to shorten the long link, use http://tiny.cc or similar
  5. Send the link to the listserv (or other intended users) by an email

Hi Ivan, thanks for the tips!

I sometimes use yousendit.com. It is originally meant for large files and sending files up to 100 MB is for free.

However I often use it when I want to share files with a group of people, files that I don't want to put out in public but share with a smaller informal group.

The advantage is that I upload my document and recipients get a link for download. This link is only working for a limited time and after that everything is deleted without me having to do anything.
