What is your connection to Solution Focused Work (based on Insoo Kim Berg and Steve de Shazer at BFTC Milwaukee and others)?
Trained as a family therapist, I have been practising solution focused therapy since 1986. As my interest in the practices and methods of business continues to grow, i earned an MBA from Queen's University in 2003 that has provided tremendous depth and knowledge of business for aperson who has laboured in not-for-profit public sector environemnts throughout my career. The learning I made regarding for-profit businesses while in the MBA has been a temendous opportunity to gain knowledge of motivation and practices associated with the goals of such a business.
I currently have a therapy and consultation practice that I can devote significantly more time to since the departure of our grown children from our home to pursue their own passion. I continue to live with Lynda, my wife of 26 years and our dog, Sadie.
I have a particular interest in SF as a vehicle for organizational change and as a vehicle for the delivery of positive psychology within organizations. Additional interests relate to leadership development, management practices, execulative coaching and training social service and business people in this method.
