Hi Michael and all
And thanks for setting up the group. For the last 5 days, Cheltenham (where I live) has been holding its nnual Science Festival. This has been a great treat with a galaxy of stars of the scientific community, including neuroscientists, cosmologists, Darwinists, psychologists (2 gigs with Steven Pinker yesterday), Artificial Intelligence experts .... My mind (brian? mouth?) is still buzzing.

Thanks for the invitation, Michael! Reminds me of my special connection to nerves and brains: In fact, I wrote my (biology) diploma thesis about some aspect of pattern formation and developmental neurobiology (to be more specific: about a growth factor called "Hydra head acivator" - isn't that a promising name? ...;-)

Unfortunately, since then that quote from that postcard mostly applies: "Nothing right in my left brain, nothing left in my right brain" ...

Thanks for opening this group. I have used the invitation to join as a perfect excuse to write a blog about a topic which currently fascinates me: Brain plasticity - the impact of consciously focusing our attention...
Of course I'd be interested in your thoughts on what this means for SF practice.

My son (5 years old) this morning asked me to look for some money he had misplaced. I asked him "but did you really have 3 gold coins?". He answered "Mommy just help me look for the things I want to find"
So, another lesson learned - don´t look for the thing you lost. look for the things you want to find. ;-)
