Sharing and building Solution Focused practice in organisations

I was wondering if, when & how this group discussion will be formed. It seems to me that this specific group, more than any other group, can explore the relation between SF and intercultural settings & processes within itself - as a reflection of an emerging intercultural group.

Could we accept it as a Platform?

Hi Yoram,

It sounds like that you are intending to steer this group into the 'intercultural' direction by initiating this particular topic for discussion.

Eva
Hi Eva,

A propos "sounds" - I could come up with a quote: "Things don't sound the same in different cultures".
Following the 'Emergence' theme, I would say that I don't know what, when and who will steer this group.
As I struggle to keep some time for this activity, I can see that the intervals between comments will change every now and then.

Cheers & Miracles,
Yoram
Hi Yoram
Nice to see you in the group! I think your suggestion for a platform to start out from (if I have understand it correctly) will suit me fine.
My understanding: By being from different cultures, having different perspectives this in itself is interculture and can be interesting as the platform for further exploring.

To me it helps answering the questions that was presented at the Cologne conference:

Q: WHERE DO YOU WANT TO BE NEXT YEAR?

My best hopes are to have a more clear picture of the complexity of this topic. With that picture or maybe 'mosaic' I will be able to have a closer look at some areas to figure out where it would be most attractive - for me - to start a more concrete adventure into intercultural meaning trying out tool, making workshops and so on.

Q: WHAT HAS ALREADY BEEN ACHIEVED?

The meeting on Sunday at the SOLWorld 2008 and the making of this group. Furthermore the experience of the diversity of the group that came together proved to me that there is enough positive energy so that something useful will happen.

Q: WHAT IS THE NEXT SMALL STEP TO DRIVE THIS TOPIC FORWARD?

For me it will be an announcement on keenest hopes and wishes for this topic from those who wishes to join.

Q: WHO WILL BE THE CONTACT PERSON(S)

Christa so nicely said yes to be the contact person - AND - I think it's essential that we all take responsibility to drive this topic forward so it becomes a curious movement in and around, up and down this topic to explorer and to share. Basically to make it an adventure.
Hi Jesper,

The 4 questions are good to work with. They are also known to all of us in the group, so they could also be refered to as 'counters'.

Q: WHERE DO YOU WANT TO BE NEXT YEAR?
With the new 'platform', based on the work we did. A 'Future Perfect' then, would be a list of accepted parameters for mutual accepted basics for conducting an intercultural conversation

Q: WHAT HAS ALREADY BEEN ACHIEVED?
The idea was set.
A first meeting was conducted in Cologne.
Members of the group experienced a real-life intercultural conversation.
Intercultural values were discussed, prior to a discussion about what should the values in such an event be?
A relevant group was established in the solworld.ning.com website.

Q: WHAT IS THE NEXT SMALL STEP TO DRIVE THIS TOPIC FORWARD?
To participate in this group/forum.

Q: WHO WILL BE THE CONTACT PERSON(S)
Christa as the initiator & creator of this topic and whoever emerge during this process.

Cheers & Miracles,
Yoram
