Sharing and building Solution Focused practice in organisations

Dear Solutionists,

The SOL 2009 Organizing team hopes to welcome all of you in the Netherlands, on Texel. Our organising team is working, with pleasure, to create the perfect setting to meet, learn and have fun together. Here is an update about our progress.

1. Registration
At this moment about 100 solutionists registered as a participant for SOL 2009! We hope to welcome at least 150 people in May, so please inform, and bring, your friends and colleagues to come as well!

2. Workshop proposals:
What a wonderful response to our request for workshop proposals for SOL 2009. We received 59 proposals: EXCELLENT! So we’ve had some work to select 35 workshops, and to transfer some proposals to the ‘activity-market’, plenary or ‘open space meeting’, which will also be programmed on Texel. We really tried not to let anyone down. We selected by country, number of proposals and connection to the theme. We’ve asked some proposals to be rewritten, and requested a few contributors to come up with a joint proposal, in order to accommodate as many presenters as possible. The responses to our selections are also warm and generous.

3. Hotel reservations:
With respect to accommodation on Texel, we added another Hotel suggestion on de the SOL website, since some people requested a more affordable option. Other accommodation options you’ll find at www.texel.net.

4. Conference Fee:
Just as a reminder, in addition to an complete, various and really connecting conference program, the (full) conference fee includes a holiday atmosphere (sand, dunes and sea), with:
• special food and some drinks on the Thursday-evening between 20.00 and 22.00 o’clock.
• coffee and tea during the conference
• lunches on Friday and Saturday, including beverages
• a beautiful brunch on Sunday (including drinks)
• Beach Barbecue on Friday (including some drinks) and an Island diner on Saturday, including all the drinks and the Cabaret Evening with live music!
• Lots of extra’s!
So, please join us on Texel: to meet in a wonderful place, in an exciting program, to connect with all your solution friends.

As to the future: what about SOL 2010? Is it worth mentioning that there are some rumours of Tjechie or Denmark to be the next host?

Sunny greetings,

The SOL 2009 Organizing Team:

Bert Garssen (chairman)
