Dear SF community,

I will be using interpretative phenomenological analysis as my methodology. As far as I'm aware this methodology - which is concerned with the research participant's experience and meaning making - has not been used in SF coaching so my research might be useful to the SF coaching community.

Please PM me or email me at stephen@constructivecoaching.net if you or anyone you know might like to take part. Ideally, I would be looking for participants in the south of England so we could do face to face interviews, but if necessary we could conduct the interviews via secure video conferencing.

Many thanks in advance.

Eugen goes to a group hosted by Dominic Godat in Lucerne. It’s an unusual group for Switzerland, because most coaching development groups are formalised and rather bureaucratic. This one isn't. There are no development credits and no one asks your credentials.

About 15 people attend, and many stay for lunch afterwards, like a family thing. There are a regular 8, with another 15 irregulars, as the group is open to all and attracts a mix of business people, therapists and consultants.

There may be a sharing of success stories and highlights, then perhaps a practice of new tools. They'll take about tips and techniques that they can get to use with clients afterwards. Sometimes there's a live coaching within the group. If more than 15 show up, then it's Open Space. Topics are not planned in advance, unless someone has requested something on their email post list.

The monthly meeting works well, and we could branch out too into an occasional longer meeting, say a half-day, perhaps with a proposed topic or a guest workshop leader.
Did you know?
